Making frame buttons

Button art on the cheap.

I love kitschy little home decor items/wall hangings, because a little color goes a long way to spice up a room. ESPECIALLY when you live in an apartment (hello Mod Podge Command Central) and you can't paint the walls. I have a love affair with buttons; I would marry them if I could. I decided to spice up a boring wall in my room with this cute little piece, incorporating my very favorite buttons and, of course, Mod Podge. Here's how to make it.

Knitting Pigs

Inspired by some cute knit water bottle cuffs on etsy, I decided to try knitting a little sippy cup holder for Tate. I started with pink scrap yarn and decided to knit a pig. I knit a small cuff, added a crocheted circle for the nose, two little buttons for the eyes ...

... and added a curlicue for the tail.

Pom pom maker

pompomtut1
This is a tutorial for making pom-poms using your
fingers. This one is a small, two-finger pom-pom
(about 1" in diameter) but you can make bigger ones
by using more fingers. As far as yarn choice, thinner
and softer yarn will make a more pleasing pom-pom.
